Remote Access
FastManager is not really designed to be accessed remotely, and we certainly do not recommend hosting the database on any kind of internet service or “cloud” server.
Your best option is to use the 'Remote Desktop' approach, ie:
- The FastManager Data Folder is on a computer in 'Network A'
- There is also another computer in 'Network A' that you can get exclusive access to, which has FastManager installed and connected to the Company Database (which is in the same network)
- Then, from another computer at the remote location ('Network B'), use a tool such as one of those below to control the computer back in 'Network A'
- 'ConnectWise ScreenConnect' - ( https://www.screenconnect.com/Pricing ), or
- 'AnyDesk' ( http://anydesk.com ), or
- 'Apache Guacomole' ( https://guacamole.incubator.apache.org )
- Teamviewer
Set the default Subject when sending an email
There are 2 different ways you can have FastManager automatically populate the “Subject” and “Message” fields when sending and form by email:
1. In the Email account setup (will affect any message sent from that account) If you go to 'Edit → Email Accounts' , then open the email account you use,
then go to the 'Defaults' tab you can specify the following in the "Subject" field: [DocNumber]
2. On the “Print Preview” screen If you go to the 'Print Preview' screen (ie: open any document and click on Print → and choose any doc type to print)
there is a button near the upper left: 'Email Subject Setup' There - you can specify a different 'Default Subject' for each of the different doc types for example: you can set your Invoices to say: Invoice [DocNumber] and your Quotes to say: Quotation [DocNumber]
The setting from the Print Preview will override the setting from the Email Account setup!
