GMAIL

The basic GMAIL SMTP settings are as follows:

SMTP Server Information
SMTP Server Address: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port Number: 465
Encryption Type: SSL
Authentication:
Username: your full email address
Password: the special APP PASSWORD that you will create (see below)

You will use the App Password that you create below in place of the normal email password in the setup in FastManager

Here’s how:

First login to your Google account and enable 2-Step Verification (if it is not already enabled).
for more information about how to do this, Click Here

If you don’t have the option to enable 2-Step Verification, it might be because:

  • This is a Google Workspace account and the admin has not allowed 2-Step Verification as an option for individual mailboxes.
  • 2-Step Verification is only set up for security keys.
  • Your account is through work, school, or other organization.
  • You turned on Advanced Protection.

Once you have 2-Step Verification enabled:

  • In your Google Account, click on “Security” at the left,
  • Under “How you sign in to Google,” select 2 Step Verification again,
  • Scroll to the bottom and click on App Passwords
  • Under “App” and choose “Custom App” (give it a name, maybe: “FastManager”) and then click on Generate,
  • The App Password is the 16-character code in the yellow bar on your device. Select that 16 character code and copy it to your clipboard,
  • Now you can go to the email account settings in FastManager and paste this new App Password (the 16-character code) instead of your normal Google account password (all the other settings will remain the same):

Google Business (Workspace)

If you have a Business Account with Google (“Workspace”) the organisation admin will have to login and go to https://admin.google.com and turn on 2-Step Verification for the users.
