Troubleshooting network problems

FastManager Cannot Find Your Database

When opening FastManager, you get the error message:

FastManager cannot access your database files

This is most likely a networking problem. In the error message itself, you can see the where FastManager expects to find the database:

  • Verify (through Windows File Explorer) that you can reach the indicated folder or network location where your FastManager database is stored,
  • Then restart FastManager, or:
  • Restart your computer
If the problem occurs frequently, you will need to get your I.T person to examine your network for connectivity issues

Password Protected Sharing

TIP: Turn off “Password Protected Sharing” on the host computer (the one that holds the FastManager databases):

Disk or network error

You get the error message: Disk or network error

This is a networking problem.

  • Verify (through Windows File Explorer) that you can reach the shared folder where your FastManager database is stored, then restart FastManager, or:
  • Restart your computer
If the problem occurs frequently, you will need to get your I.T person to examine your network for connectivity issues

Cannot find input table or query

You get an error message which contains: ... cannot find input table or query ...

This happens when FastManager has lost its connection to the database, and that happens when the computer has momentarily lost its connection to the network,

  • Double-check that your computer can reach the shared folder or network location where the FastManager database is stored, then close and reopen FastManager.
  • Or restart your computer
If the problem occurs frequently, you will need to get your I.T person to examine your network for connectivity issues
